Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensure the well-being of our animal patients. Your expertise will help create a compassionate environment where animals receive top-quality treatment and owners feel confident in the care their pets are receiving. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection using aseptic techniques. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Maintain detailed medical records, including vaccination history, treatment plans, and laboratory results. Provide pet care services such as sanitary grooming, feeding, and administering medications while ensuring animal comfort and safety. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth. Handle animals safely using dog handling skills and animal restraint techniques to minimize stress and injury. Operate radiology equipment to take X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed for both animals and staff. Contribute to animal husbandry efforts by monitoring health status, cleaning enclosures, and managing kennel operations. Assist with large animal care when applicable, including handling horses and understanding equine anatomy and physiology. Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and providing compassionate patient support. Experience Current active Kansas RVT license is required Prior experience working as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is required. Demonstrated experience along with knowledge of animal handling is required. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures is essential. Experience with dental terminology, pet care routines, and dog training techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Hands-on experience with X-ray imaging, aseptic techniques, animal catheterization, and laboratory testing is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and emergency response procedures is a plus. Strong communication skills combined with the ability to work efficiently in a team environment are vital for success in this energetic role. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
