Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our passionate veterinary team. In this vital role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, support veterinary staff, and ensure the highest standards of animal care. Your leadership will drive efficient workflow, uphold clinical protocols, and foster a compassionate environment for both animals and pet owners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your extensive veterinary technician skills while mentoring team members and enhancing patient outcomes. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations. Assist veterinarians with complex procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and laboratory testing. Manage anesthesia administration, monitor vital signs, and assist with surgical procedures using aseptic techniques. Perform detailed animal examinations, including assessing animal physiology and anatomy to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Conduct diagnostic imaging such as X-ray procedures and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnosis. Oversee pet care routines including grooming, feeding, and general animal husbandry to promote well-being. Train team members on veterinary terminology, dog training techniques, pet grooming standards, and proper animal handling practices. Experience Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal handling, restraint, and anatomy knowledge. Kennel experience with a focus on pet care and maintaining clean, safe environments for animals. Veterinary critical care experience demonstrating proficiency in emergency response and intensive animal treatment. Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and understanding of diagnostic tests. Equine experience is a plus; familiarity with large animal care enhances versatility in diverse clinical settings. Skilled in using veterinary equipment such as X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and dental tools with knowledge of dental terminology. Demonstrated leadership abilities as a lead or senior technician capable of mentoring junior staff while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
