Job Description

We are an AAHA-accredited, privately owned general practice that sees dogs, cats, birds and other exotic pets. In fact, about 50% of our patients are "exotic." We are committed to offering high-quality and compassionate care for the patients and clients we serve. We strive to provide the highest standards of care possible for all of our patients in a general practice setting. We are seeking an experienced certified veterinary technician to join our team and become part of our dynamic practice. Responsibilities:
Administer medications and treatments Oversee basic preventive care appointments Triage urgent care patients and assist veterinarian in sick patient workup and treatment Run in-house diagnostics and prep samples for referral laboratories Patient sample collection, venipuncture Dental cleaning Radiology Coordinate prescription refills Surgical/anesthesia monitoring Client education and communication Clerical/operations (general administrative duties like answering phones, receiving packages, emailing medical records and general housekeeping)
Requirements:
Degree in veterinary technology (or equivalent) (certification preferred but not required) Veterinary experience (2 years minimum) Excellent verbal communication skills Actively engaged in learning new skills Able to learn software systems (including electronic medical records systems) Ability to handle and work in a busy environment Interest in exotics is a must, experience with exotics is a plus!
