In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the comfort and health of our diverse animal patients. Your expertise in animal handling, laboratory procedures, and veterinary terminology will help us maintain the highest standards of care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and aseptic techniques Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses Knowledge of Antech/Idexx in-house equipment Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatments Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and patient histories in compliance with clinic protocols Prepare animals for procedures such as catheterization, X-ray imaging, surgeries, and critical care intervention Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and treatment areas following aseptic technique Ability to perform CPR Triage, obtain histories, provide patient rounds between departments Attention to detail! Qualifications Proven kennel experience and animal husbandry skills with a strong understanding of animal anatomy and physiology Prior veterinary technician experience or related veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable
RECOVER ALS/BLS
Certification preferred Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis is preferred Ability to perform advanced venipuncture Familiarity with X-ray procedures and animal catheterization techniques Small animal restraint Advanced drug dosing and administration Ability to work in a high stress/fast pace environment Strong communication skills with the ability to explain veterinary procedures using veterinary terminology clearly and professionally CVT/LVT preferred but not required We are dedicated to supporting your growth as a Veterinary Technician by providing a collaborative environment where your skills can flourish.
