The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care—including companion animals and exotic species—and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the veterinarian and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various medical procedures, providing attentive care for both traditional pets and exotic animals (such as birds, reptiles, and small mammals), and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Experience in handling exotic animals is required. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively Prepare animals for surgery, including administering anesthesia as directed Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with X-ray procedures Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment Ensure the cleanliness of the facility, including kennels and examination rooms Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally. Greet clients courteously and assist with questions or concerns regarding their pets. Schedule appointments based on client and doctor availability, including wellness visits, follow-ups, and urgent care. Make follow-up calls to check on patient progress, confirm upcoming appointments, or relay important medical updates. Document all communication in the patient's record accurately. Collect necessary information from new clients (contact details, pet's information, medical history). Provide clients with instructions or forms when needed and ensure they are informed about procedures, pricing, and next steps. Experience Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy is essential Familiarity with animal handling techniques and safety protocols is required Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray technology Provided excellent customer service while managing time-sensitive and sometimes emotionally challenging situations.
