Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to provide high-quality veterinary services. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatment procedures while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our animal patients.
  • Fridays, some evenings (until 7pm) and rotating weekend required
  • Hourly Rate commensurate with experience
  • Duties Assist veterinarians in performing examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients during procedures and recovery, ensuring their safety and comfort. Perform animal catheterization and restraint techniques as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle animals with care, employing proper dog handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques. Assist in kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and exercising animals. Qualifications Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician is required, Certification Preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dentistry. Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is a plus. Equine experience is advantageous for those working with large animals. Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques are essential. Ability to perform X-ray imaging as required by the veterinarian. Experience in dog training or grooming is beneficial but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential for success in this role.
