Job Description

Busy 4-doctor AAHA Veterinary practice seeking a veterinary assistant or licensed veterinary technician to join our team. This is a full time position including some evenings and Saturdays.
Requirements :
⦁ College degree or diploma from an accredited U.S. Veterinary Technician college (if registered) ⦁ High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of :
ezyVet software and the following: ⦁ Restraint of animals of differing species, sizes, and temperaments. ⦁ Blood draws and catheter placement ⦁ Basic blood profiles ⦁ Veterinary nursing care ⦁ Anesthetic protocols and monitoring ⦁ Exotics experience a plus ⦁ Dental prophylaxis The ability to : ⦁ Work in a physically demanding environment ⦁ Lift 35 lbs without assistance ⦁ Repeatedly climb stairs ⦁ Stand or kneel for long periods of time ⦁ Work a flexible full time schedule ⦁ Communicate effectively with coworkers, doctors and clients ⦁ Be a team player
Duties:
⦁ Prepping patients for surgery ⦁ Assist doctor in surgeries & treatments - Monitoring animals during & post surgery ⦁ Maintenance of hospital equipment in accordance with established procedures. ⦁ Processing xrays ⦁ Performing laboratory testing including but not limited to fecal floats and smears, blood tests on Idexx lab equipment, urine dipsticks and skin scrapings ⦁ Clipping nails, expressing anal glands and suture removals ⦁ Administering medications including fluids ⦁ Technician appointments ⦁ Pharmacy duties including the dispensing of medication ⦁ Perform dental prophys under doctor supervision ⦁ Screen and assist with doctor appointments ⦁ Perform laser therapy treatments ⦁ Efficiently perform tasks assigned by the doctor

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
