Veterinary Technician Veterinary Surgical Centers is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to our team at our Gaithersburg location. For the past 20 plus years, VSC has been the DMV's leader in surgery, and now at our first Maryland location in Gaithersburg, it is a location for specialty offerings too.

Certified Veterinary TechnicianVeterinary Surgical Centers in Gaithersburg, MD$30.00 - $38.00 an hour, depending on experience and certificationThe target schedule for this role is Monday through Thursday

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Assisting our team of board-certified specialists in care and surgical procedures
• Performing all laboratory in-hospital procedures and to prepare specimens for outside laboratories
• Taking patient histories, monitoring vitals, and checking weights on patients
• Providing nursing care for hospitalized patients overnight
• Cleaning, stocking, transferring and discharging patients
• Delivering strong and professional customer service to clients, and more!

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of veterinary experience required
• Experience in specialty veterinary medicine and/or small animal nursing care will be strongly preferred
• Prior experience with CT and MRI scanning is preferred but not required
• 2-year Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited U.S. Veterinary Technician college and current Maryland State licensure is required
• VTS (Anesthesia or Surgery) members are HIGHLY encouraged to apply
• Positive and energetic individual
• Work as a team player in group settings as well as be able to work individually
• Demonstrate strong communication and fast problem-solving skills in a stressful situation
• Be comfortable with multi-parameter monitoring equipment, inhalant, and injectable anesthesia agents
• Have a passion for improving quality of life for animals
• Excel at multitasking
• Be dependable, trustworthy with strong work ethic and a willingness to continue learning!
