Job Description
Veterinary Technician - CVT 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our team. Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is an emergency clinic originally formed by local veterinarians in hopes of delivering prompt and conscientious emergency care for patients after hours, on weekends, and during holidays. We have recently moved into a 5,000 square foot updated building on 16 acres with a double OR, surgical prep/endoscopy room, and seven exam rooms and new digital X-ray system, in-house lab, ultrasound ( '22), newly purchased endoscope ('24), and ventilator system in OR. Veterinary Technician - CVT Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Holden, ME This position is eligible for an incentive bonus of up to $1,500 based on experience, licensure, and availability. Overnight shifts are eligible for a shift differential!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas Perform physical assessments and record your observations Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!) Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids) Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgeryBENEFITS
