Job Description
Experienced Veterinary Technician Lake Region Animal Hospital | Windham, Maine Lake Region Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our growing small animal practice. We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in excellent patient care, and thrives as part of a supportive, collaborative team. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, including appointments, treatments, anesthesia, surgery, nursing care, and client education. Surgery is an important part of this role, and we're looking for someone who is comfortable assisting with anesthesia and surgical procedures a couple mornings each week while also serving as an integral member of our treatment team. Responsibilities Assist doctors during appointments and treatments Prepare and monitor patients undergoing anesthesia and surgery Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture Monitor anesthetic patients and provide recovery care Perform laboratory testing and sample collection Assist with hospitalized patient care and treatments Educate clients on medications, procedures, and home care Maintain accurate medical records Work collaboratively with doctors and teammates to provide outstanding patient care Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of experience in a small animal veterinary practice Comfortable placing IV catheters Experience monitoring anesthesia Strong multitasking and organizational skills Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team Preferred but not required Dental radiography experience Dental prophylaxis experience Fear Free handling Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT) What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, motivated, and enjoys being part of a team that genuinely supports one another.
