Job Description

Licensed Veterinary Technician - Job Summary As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (Vet Tech) , you will support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. You'll work directly with patients and clients, perform clinical procedures, assist during exams and surgeries, and help maintain a safe, efficient clinic environment. Key Responsibilities Perform nursing care for animals (e.g., monitoring vitals, administering medications, wound care) Collect and process lab samples (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology) Take and develop diagnostic imaging (X-rays) under supervision Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures Educate and communicate with pet owners about treatment plans, medications, and preventive care Maintain medical records and accurately document patient treatments Sterilize instruments and maintain clean treatment areas Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately Required Qualifications Current Licensed Veterinary Technician credential (state license) High school diploma or equivalent (additional animal-science education preferred) Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a team Comfort handling animals of various sizes and temperaments Skills & Attributes Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Compassionate and calm under pressure Knowledge of veterinary terminology and clinical procedures Able to lift and restrain animals safely Comfortable working with medical tools and equipment
