Full-Time or Part-Time Veterinary Technician Howard City Veterinary Services - Howard City, MI Join Our Team! Howard City Veterinary Services is growing and looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! We are currently hiring for either a full-time or part-time position. This is a Monday through Friday position with no weekends. We are a busy, privately owned small animal practice dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care, outstanding customer service, and compassionate care for every patient. Our technicians play an active role in patient diagnostics and treatment using advanced in-house technology, including IDEXX laboratory equipment, digital cytology, in-house urinalysis, and digital radiography. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with patient examinations and treatments. Safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures. Collect blood, urine, skin, and other laboratory samples. Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics using IDEXX equipment, including hematology, chemistry, SNAP testing, digital cytology, and urinalysis. Obtain quality digital radiographs. Place and maintain intravenous catheters. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Fill prescriptions accurately. Educate clients on medications, treatments, preventive care, and home care instructions. Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records. Assist with appointments while helping maintain an efficient workflow. Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and fully stocked. Work closely with receptionists, assistants, and veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care. Required Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a veterinary clinic as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant. Strong patient handling and restraint skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented. Excellent attention to detail. Proficient with or willing to learn veterinary practice management software. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) preferred but not required. Experience with Avimark veterinary software. Experience using IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. Experience with digital radiography. Experience with in-house diagnostics, including urinalysis and cytology, is a plus. Knowledge of Fear Free handling techniques is a plus. What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
