Animal Medical Center of Marquette - Marquette, MI Privately owned _ Fear Free Certified AAHA-accredited _ No weekends, holidays, or on-call Deliver gold-standard patient care from triage to recovery Animal Medical Center of Marquette (AMC) is a companion-animal, general-practice hospital serving Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We're adding a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to our Fear Free clinical team. If you can restrain a fractious cat with finesse, place IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, and keep exam rooms spotless—while maintaining a positive, team-first attitude —let's talk! Why you'll love working here Predictable schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-10 hour shifts— no weekends, holidays, or after-hours emergencies Competitive pay: starting at $21.00 /hr (40 hrs/week) or commensurate with experience + annual performance reviews Health-insurance stipend , retirement plan with employer match , and uniform allowance Hefty employee discounts on exams, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, prescription diets, and retail Paid time off so you can hike, bike, ski, and soak up Lake Superior Privately owned culture: zero corporate red tape and direct access to decision-makers Fear Free, low-stress handling philosophy that keeps patients and staff safer What you'll do Provide safe, Fear Free animal restraint for exams, blood draws, venipuncture, IM/SQ injections, and nail trims Place IV catheters, calculate fluid rates, set up intravenous infusion pumps, and monitor anesthesia under doctor/technician supervision Prep patients for soft-tissue & orthopedic surgery (clipping, scrubbing, instrument packs, autoclave) and assist in dental prophylaxis (hand scaling, polishing, dental radiographs) Run in-house laboratory diagnostics (CBC/Chem, urinalysis, fecals, SNAP tests) and perform sample prep for reference labs Capture digital radiographs and assist with abdominal & cardiac ultrasound positioning Educate clients on post-op care, parasite prevention, vaccine protocols, nutrition, and chronic-disease management Maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, surgical suite, and isolation ward to AAHA sanitation standards Enter SOAP notes, treatments, and charges in Cornerstone practice-management software Cross-train at reception as needed (phones, scheduling, estimates) to keep workflow smooth Must-have qualifications Current
LVT/CVT/RVT
license Proven competence in Fear Free/low-stress restraint, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical patient prep Solid understanding of vaccination schedules, preventive medicine, pharmacology, lab work, dentistry setup, and radiology safety Consistently positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a collaborative, team-first approach Ability to multitask under pressure without sacrificing quality of pet care or client education Physical capability to stand for long periods, kneel, and lift/assist animals up to 50 lbs Nice-to-have extras Fear Free, Level 1+ certification or experience in an AAHA-accredited hospital Proficiency with Cornerstone (or similar
