This position involves assisting with medical procedures, patient monitoring, client communication, and maintaining a clean, efficient hospital environment. Veterinary Technicians serve as a key link between the doctor, patient, and client.
  • Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Nursing Safely restrain animals for exams and procedures Obtain and record patient histories, vitals, and weights Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes promptly Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Provide compassionate care to all patients Surgical & Dental Support Prepare patients for surgery (IV catheter placement, pre-medication, etc.
) Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during procedures Assist veterinarians in surgery and dental procedures Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs (if applicable) Diagnostics & Laboratory Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other samples Run in-house lab work and prepare samples for outside labs Take and process radiographs Client Communication & Education Clearly explain treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions Educate clients on preventative care, nutrition, and follow-up needs Answer client questions with professionalism and empathy Hospital Operations Maintain a clean, organized treatment area and exam rooms Properly handle and maintain medical equipment Ensure accurate and thorough medical recordkeeping Assist with inventory and stocking as needed
  • Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting required Strong knowledge of animal handling, restraint, and basic nursing care Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical Requirements Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes Comfort standing for long periods and performing physically demanding tasks Ability to handle exposure to animals, chemicals, and medical equipment
