Job Description

Veterinary Technician working with dogs and cats in a fun paced environment. Our mission is to provide the best care with compassion to our patients and clients. Their responsibility is to help our doctors, other technicians, and receptionists in all duties of the hospital.
Specific Duties:
1. Aid patients in surgery by prepping the surgery room and surgery patient, monitoring patients levels, and confirming the recovery process. 2. Gathering patient history for exams and providing education on the patients to the client. 3. Assisting the doctor during exams with handling and restraining the patient as needed. 4. Providing customer service with clients in answering questions, scheduling appointments, providing recommendations, maintaining a professional, cheerful and helpful attitude when interacting with clients and patients. 5. Administering medications and filling prescriptions as needed for the patients.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Administer medications and treatments to animals as directed by veterinarians
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
  • Clean and sanitize animal enclosures and equipment
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
Physical Requirements:
The Veterinary Technician will be required to stand for long periods, and perform moderately heavy physical labor. Must be ale to handle and restrain pets. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
Experience:
  • Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
