Job Description

Seeking work-life balance? Join our growing team. Iron Range Veterinary clinic is a privately owned primary care facility providing medical and surgical services to dogs, cats and equine in the heart of beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-5:30 pm. with flexible scheduling and bonuses for optional emergency work.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and laboratory tests
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Provide post-operative care and monitoring of animals
  • Maintain accurate medical records for each animal
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
  • Clean and sanitize examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and animal husbandry
  • Proficiency in handling dogs, cats, and equine.
  • Familiarity with kennel operations and animal handling protocols
  • Ability to perform animal catheterization and other medical procedures under veterinary supervision
  • Excellent communication skills with both pet owners and veterinary staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with equine or small animals.
