Job Description

Do you work well with others? Can you be a team player? If so, we are accepting resumes for an experienced Veterinary Technician at Handsboro Animal Hospital.
Veterinary Technician Responsibilities:
Lifting at least 55lbs Providing animal care Assisting during operations Feeding and caring for animals. Maintaining supplies and equipment. Maintaining records. Determining animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews. Completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging. Taking vital signs and collecting samples. Administering medications, drugs, and vaccines. Bandaging and wrapping wounds. Supporting animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments. Preparing surgery table instruments. Completing local/regional anesthesia. Placing catheters , urinary and intravenous Maintaining sterile conditions. Obtaining and verifying medications. Cleaning animal cages and equipment Maintaining safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations. Additional Skills/ Work Experience we are looking for: Intubation Familiar with Cornerstone Familiar with Idexx Laboratory equipment Proper restraint skills Ability to develop a great Client / Patient relationship Qualifications Veterinary experience Animal handling and restraint skills Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology Experience in medication administration Proficiency in vital signs monitoring Laboratory experience in a veterinary setting Certification as a Veterinary Technician Ability to perform animal catheterization Understanding of animal anatomy and care Familiarity with pet care practices
