Premium compensation varies based on schedule, hours worked, and eligibility and is not guaranteed for every hour worked. Since opening in 2018, we have experienced tremendous growth and now serve patients from across Montana and the surrounding region. Our 22,000-square-foot hospital in Bozeman provides advanced care in Surgery, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, and 24-Hour Emergency & Critical Care. What You'll Do & Why Oncology Oncology offers a unique combination of advanced medicine, technical skill, and meaningful patient relationships . Our team provides both Medical and Radiation Oncology , allowing technicians and assistants to participate in care throughout diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and supportive care. Unlike many areas of veterinary medicine, oncology patients often return throughout weeks or months of treatment. You get to know your patients. You recognize their personalities, notice changes, celebrate good days, and develop relationships with the families caring for them. Depending on your role, training, licensure, and demonstrated skill level, responsibilities may include: Preparing patients for chemotherapy, radiation therapy, diagnostics, and procedures Patient assessment, restraint, positioning, and nursing care IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, and laboratory sampling Supporting chemotherapy treatments and hazardous-drug safety Preparing and administering chemotherapy within LVT scope and demonstrated competency Preparing patients for radiation therapy, including positioning and treatment support Supporting anesthesia and sedation for radiation treatments and procedures Monitoring and recovering patients following anesthesia and treatment Assisting with diagnostic imaging, biopsies, aspirates, and other procedures Recognizing changes in patient condition and communicating concerns appropriately Supporting pain management, comfort, and quality of life Educating and supporting clients throughout their pet's treatment Maintaining safe, organized, stocked, and treatment-ready work areas Collaborating across Oncology, ER/ICU, and other specialty departments If you enjoy learning advanced medicine, building strong technical skills, and developing meaningful relationships with patients and their families, Oncology offers an incredibly rewarding place to grow.
