In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care, perform diagnostic procedures, and ensure the comfort and safety of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing instruments and monitoring patient vital signs. Perform animal restraint using humane techniques to facilitate examinations, treatments, and procedures. Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians with precision and care. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document all procedures accurately. Handle pet grooming, pet care routines, and ensure animals are comfortable during their visit. Operate imaging equipment such as X-ray machines to assist in diagnostic processes while adhering to aseptic techniques. Support animal husbandry practices including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings under supervision. Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' health status. Support veterinary critical care efforts by assisting in emergency situations with animal catheterization or other urgent interventions. Handle dog training activities to improve animal behavior when necessary for treatment or adoption processes. Maintain a clean and sterile environment following strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections. Qualifications Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and pet grooming is advantageous. Strong animal husbandry skills with the ability to handle dogs confidently using proper restraint techniques. Familiarity with dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings is a plus. Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage aseptic techniques effectively. Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with team members and educating pet owners. Certification or experience as a veterinary technician is desirable but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
