Job Description:
The University of Florida Veterinary Hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), provides Small Animal primary care and emergency services and Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging services. A Veterinary Technician based in Small Animal services at the UFVH at WEC, assist clinicians with routine and urgent examinations, treatments, clinical procedures, and hospitalization nursing care. An individual in this position must possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine and enjoy learning new things. Why work for UF? Available Shifts:
The hospital requires coverage 24 hours/7 days a week. Typically schedules consist of 8 or 10 hour shifts. Will be assigned to a primary shift, generally: Day shift, Evening Shift or Night Shift. Reassignment to a different primary shift, rotating shifts, split shifts and extended shifts may be required and assigned depending on hospital needs. Assigned days may vary Sunday through Saturday, weekends and holidays included. This position also requires working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or "on-call duty." This individual is considered essential personnel which may include reporting to work during Main Campus closures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Veterinary Technician I, Small Animal:
High school diploma and two years of veterinary experience or one year of veterinary experience and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or graduate of a veterinary technician program
Veterinary Technician II, Small Animal:
Credentialed veterinary technician and four years of veterinary experience
Expected Salary:
$18•25 /hour

Preferred Veterinary Technician I, Small Animal:
High school diploma and two years of veterinary experience or one year of veterinary experience and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or graduate of a veterinary technician program
Veterinary Technician II, Small Animal:
