Avian and Exotic Animal Care, in Raleigh NC, is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to add to our amazing team! As one of the east coast's first exclusively exotic practices, we've been offering high quality, state of the art care to exotic patients for nearly 30 years. We treat species ranging from something as small as a betta fish, up to as large as a kangaroo! We utilize CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, laser therapy, acupuncture, and digital radiography to stay on the cutting edge of exotic animal medicine. Premium patient care is essential, but staff self-care is also a high priority. Our technicians work exclusively with exotic patients and do so in a variety of capacities: seeing rooms with doctors, assisting with surgery and anesthesia monitoring, running radiology/ultrasound/CT, managing hospitalized patients, running in-house labs like fecals/urinalysis/bloodwork, and compounding medications. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of clinical veterinary experience in a veterinary assistant or technician role, but exotic-specific experience is not required. Technical licensure (RVT, CVT, LVT) is required for this position, but if you are interested in working with us and are not credentialed, then please check to see if we also have a Veterinary Assistant position open, as that position does not require licensure.
