Veterinary Technicians are central to this mission. The Position:
Veterinary Technician (Non-Certified / Early Career) This role is designed for experienced, non-certified veterinary technicians with 1-5 years of full-time clinical experience who are confident in core technical skills and eager to continue advancing medically and professionally. There is clear room for advancement into Senior Technician and CVT-aligned responsibilities as skills, leadership, and experience grow. We are looking for a Veterinary Technician who values: High-quality, hands-on patient care Strong technical skills and medical accuracy Low-stress handling and patient advocacy Clear communication and teamwork Accountability and professionalism A respectful, drama-free workplace Ongoing learning and career development What You'll Do Clinical Appointments & Patient Care Assist veterinarians during exams, sick visits, and rechecks Independently obtain and record patient histories and vitals (TPR, weight, CRT) Confidently restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques Prepare exam rooms and patients for procedures and diagnostics Administer vaccines and medications (oral, injectable, topical) as directed Place IV catheters and administer subcutaneous fluids (skill-dependent) Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes promptly Maintain accurate medical records and real-time charges Diagnostics & Laboratory Work Collect blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples Prepare and evaluate basic cytology (ear/skin) Run and maintain in-house diagnostics (CBC, chem, glucose, HW, FeLV/FIV, parvo, etc.) Prepare samples and requisitions for outside laboratories Assist with radiographs, including patient positioning and radiation safety Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure quality control Surgery & Anesthesia Support Prepare surgical patients and treatment areas Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery as directed Accurately record anesthesia parameters and patient vitals Maintain sterile fields and aseptic technique Clean, disinfect, and restock surgical and treatment areas Client Communication & Education Educate clients on vaccines, parasite prevention, medications, and nutrition Review discharge instructions and post-procedure care Demonstrate medication administration techniques clearly and confidently Provide compassionate support during emotional or end-of-life visits Communicate effectively with CCRs to ensure seamless client experience Hospital Operations & Team Support Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment, exam, and lab areas Monitor medical supply inventory and report low stock Support assistants and mentor less-experienced team members Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education Uphold hospital standards, protocols, and culture You'll succeed in this role if you bring: Solid clinical experience in small animal medicine Confidence with vaccines, medications, labs, and radiographs Strong patient handling and safety awareness Clear, professional communication skills Ability to multitask and stay composed in a busy environment Accountability and attention to detail Desire to grow into advanced or leadership roles
Experience & Growth Required:
