Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Junior Veterinary Technician as part of Comparative Medicine Resources within the Office for Research. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides technical support to the veterinarian and veterinary technologists in clinical care to a variety of university research animal species. Assists with treatments, diagnostic sampling, health evaluations and laboratory procedures.

Nonexempt Salary Details $50,000 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Temporary Staff Appointment - Salaried 12 Month Minimum Education and Experience Associate degree preferably in veterinary technology, biology, animal science, or other related science, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Certifications/Licenses A driver's license is required with 2 years of experience would be required for this position. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to participate in the occupational health program for animal workers, which requires a pre-placement medical evaluation. Preferred Qualifications Six months of experience in a laboratory or clinical practice facility, preferably including work in both small animal veterinary practices and the animal research environment. Special Conditions Safe Driving Record.
