About the RoleAs a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our surgical team from patient admission through recovery and discharge. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role ideal for a technician with strong anesthesia experience and confidence in surgical monitoring.

Youll report directly to the Surgery Supervisor and play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

What Youll DoPatient & Surgical SupportAdmit patients for surgical and outpatient procedures in accordance with hospital protocolsPerform thorough physical assessments and monitor vital signsPrepare anesthesia protocols under veterinarian guidance and calculate medicationsAdminister injectable medications (SQ, IM, IV)Place and maintain IV catheters; calculate fluid therapy and manage fluid pumpsAnesthesia & MonitoringOperate and interpret ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, oscillometric and Doppler blood pressure monitoringPerform endotracheal intubation/extubationSafely administer inhalant anesthesiaClosely monitor anesthetic depth from pre-op through recoveryRecognize complications quickly and communicate effectively with the doctorRecovery & DischargeRecover patients from anesthesia and assess pain levelsCollaborate with veterinarians on appropriate pain management plansMaintain accurate medical records and log controlled substances per DEA requirementsDischarge patients under veterinary direction and clearly explain medications and home care instructions to clientsSurgical Suite & TeamworkClean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and packsMaintain a professional demeanor at all timesCommunicate effectively and work collaboratively with the entire hospital teamWhat Were Looking ForMinimum 1 year of Veterinary Surgical Technician experience (Required)Strong anesthesia monitoring skills (Required)Dentistry experience (Strongly Preferred)Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skillsAbility to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environmentSchedule12-hour day shiftsWeekends as neededBenefits & Perks401(k) with employer matchingHealth, Vision, and Dental insuranceJourney Behavioral Health Program and Employee Assistance ProgramPaid Time Off and Holiday PayCE Reimbursement for CVT's and LVT'sMonthly Bonus PotentialScrub AllowanceGenerous Employee DiscountsFlexible SchedulingPaid Parental Leave
