We are looking for someone who can handle a fast-paced environment, multi-task and works well as a team member. Valle Verde AH is a non corporate private practice offering medical and surgical care focused on small animal and exotic pets, including reptiles and avian species. This position is available for both veterinary assistant/technician. Salary is dependent on experience and knowledge base.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Act as an assistant to the veterinarian. Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people. Prepare and administer medications or treatments as needed. Monitor and care for hospitalized patients. Conduct diagnostics. Keep hospital stocked, tidy, and clean. Assist with anesthesia, dentistry, and surgical procedures. Assist with other tasks as needed. The ideal person would have the following characteristics: Technician training or experience required. Must enjoy working with animals. A self-starter that will take initiative to accomplish tasks at hand. Must be able to lift and restrain heavy animals. Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in high-stress situations. Comfortable working with all types of animals, including exotics.
