Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care and support. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, perform diagnostic tests, and provide compassionate pet care. Your skills in animal handling, laboratory work, and veterinary terminology will help ensure our patients receive the highest quality treatment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, and equine species, in a fast-paced environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain detailed medical records, including documenting procedures, medication administration, and patient progress using veterinary terminology. Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-surgery or critical care situations. Take and develop X-ray images accurately while understanding animal anatomy and physiology to assist in diagnosis. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings or treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Handle animal catheterization, perform basic pet grooming tasks, and assist in animal husbandry practices to promote overall health. Support client education by explaining pet care instructions clearly and compassionately to pet owners. Qualifications Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification demonstrating veterinary technician experience. Proven kennel experience along with strong dog handling skills to manage various animals confidently. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and experience working in emergency or intensive care settings preferred. Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with equine handling and treatment techniques is a plus but not mandatory. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques required for safe practice. Excellent animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely using proper restraint techniques. Experience with X-ray procedures and pet grooming is advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
