Full Job Description STATUS:

FULL TIME - HOURLY, NON-EXEMPT, 40

HRS/WEEK, (weekday and weekend availability required) The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the traditional duties that include assessing animals on intake, animal restraint, wound care, administration of treatments, preparing animals for surgery and other various procedures, performing euthanasia and assisting by cleaning and disinfecting equipment and space. The technician will also perform X- rays, lab work, and enter medical information into the database. New York State Veterinary Technician license is required. The candidate will collaboratively perform duties with great attention to detail and have the ability to effectively multi-task while working with staff in other departments. This people-friendly person will be skilled using computers and work well independently. This individual will also participate in creating a thriving culture of philanthropy at the SPCA Serving Erie County by increasing awareness and support of our organization. This is achieved by being knowledgeable and supportive of SPCA programs and events, sharing your passion for service to animals and people within our community, and serving as an inspiration by providing an exemplary level of animal care and guest service.
