Company DescriptionThe Pet Doctor is a two-doctor general practice, small animal & some exotics veterinary hospital. We offer a wide range of services to provide the best care for our patients including Preventative Care, Urgent Care & Emergency Services, Digital Radiology, High Speed Dentistry, Ultrasound, Laser Therapy, In-House Laboratory and Dental Imaging. As pet owners ourselves, we know firsthand how important a pet is to their family! And with more than 30 years proudly serving the veterinary needs of pets and owners in our community, our client's pets are family to us as well. We are looking to add a passionate and motivate LVT to our dedicated medical care team!

Our hours of operation are:

Monday & Tuesday:

8am-8pm

Wednesday & Thursday:

9am-7pm

Friday:

8am-8pm

Saturday:

9am - 4pm for boarding pickupWe are closed on SundaysTo learn more about us click here. Job DescriptionJob duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

QualificationsWe're Looking For:

A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not requiredConsistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shiftsSome Saturday availabilityExcellent client communication and medical record management skillsComprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operationsExpertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniquesProficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimensExperience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plusExperience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoringCommitment to professional ethics and continuous learningAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazardsThe ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

Additional InformationPay Range:
