Locally Owned Veterinary Clinic Seeking LVT Kinderhook Animal Hospital is a locally owned small animal practice serving the community since 1969. What We're Looking For We are searching for someone who is: Friendly, welcoming, and compassionate A strong communicator with clients and coworkers Team-oriented and dependable Passionate about patient care and client education Comfortable assisting with appointments, surgery, and dentistry Eager to learn and grow within a supportive environment New graduates are welcome. Mentoring is available. Job Responsibilities Obtain patient histories, perform patient assessments, collect samples, run in-house laboratory testing, and maintain accurate medical records Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and client communication in a fast-paced small animal practice Safely restrain canine and feline patients Place intravenous catheters; administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients during surgical and dental procedures while maintaining sterile technique Take diagnostic radiographs, perform dental prophylaxis, and assist with dental procedures and extractions Monitor hospitalized patients, provide nursing care, and assist with emergency and urgent care cases as needed Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and compliance with OSHA, controlled substance, and infection control protocols Qualifications Current New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential required Ability to work in a fast-paced small animal clinical setting Excellent communication and client education skills Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday:
8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Rotating Saturdays:
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM No after-hours or emergency duty Compensation & Benefits $26-30/hour depending on experience Health insurance with employer contribution Licensing fees covered Employee pet discounts Paid vacation starting at 2 weeks 401(k) plan coming soon Supportive mentorship and team environment

$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
