We are seeking a versatile, self-motivated Veterinary & Biologics Technician who can seamlessly transition between cleanroom-style plasmapheresis operations, skilled clinical veterinary treatments, and active outdoor herd stewardship. This is a client-free, rewarding, and highly stable alternative to traditional clinic life.
Schedule & Work-Life Balance Primary Schedule :
Monday through Friday, day shifts. (Predictable hours, no late-night emergency on-calls.)
Weekends:
Occasional weekend work is required to assist with routine feeding, turnouts, and basic herd checks. Weekend rotations are scheduled and shared among our small team to ensure everyone gets plenty of uninterrupted time off. What You'll Do (The Weekly Balance) This is a dynamic, physical, and highly rewarding role split between cleanroom-style medical procedures and active barn/farm management:
Medical & Plasmapheresis Operations :
Aseptic venipuncture and run advance plasmapheresis collection systems. Follow strict
FDA/USDA
regulatory protocols and complete precise compliance documentation.
Clinical Veterinary Services :
Manage dedicated herd treatments. Administer veterinary treatments (such as
IV/IM/SQ
medications, flushes, and wraps). Perform physical herd health assessments, and manage preventative herd wellness.
Herd Care & Stewardship :
Assist with herd nutrition, turnout, and monitoring animal behavior. You will also assist with general property and facility maintenance to keep our farm in pristine, audit-ready condition.
Position Requirements The Clinical Foundation :
Strong veterinary nursing skills, including confident venipuncture, aseptic technique, and the ability to execute veterinary treatment plans independently.
Large Animal Competency :
At least 2 years of hands-on experience handling, treating, and reading the behavior of large animals (equine or livestock preferred).
Regulatory Discipline :
A detail-oriented mindset that understands the gravity of strict SOP's and accurate compliance recordkeeping.
The Outdoor Spirit :
Comfort working outside in all Upstate NY weather conditions. Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and help with basic physical farm maintenance.
Credentials :
Valid NYS Driver's License and ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment required. Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred. Biology degree preferred. Experience with skid steers, tractors, or basic hand tools is a massive plus!
Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
