Job Description

About us Shipman Animal Hospital is located in Claremore, OK. We are a privately owned, well established small animal practice seeking a motivated and compassionate RVT to join our team. In 2023, we moved into a new facility designed to provide an efficient and comfortable environment for our patients, clients, and team. Our hospital is equipped with a dedicated surgical suite, full in-house IDEXX lab, digital radiography, and ultrasound, allowing us to provide a broad range of diagnostic and surgical services in-house.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Take X-rays of animals as needed
  • Provide support and education to pet owners on topics such as nutrition, behavior, and preventive care
Qualifications:
  • Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with veterinarians, pet owners, and other staff members
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
