Job Description

Job Summary Green Country Veterinary Hospital (privately owned) is seeking a compassionate, motivated ,experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) to join our veterinary team. We believe RVT's plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting veterinarians during medical procedures, and ensuring a positive experience for both patients and their owners. We also believe in Technician-driven medicine with Doctors who value technician input and offer manageable appointment schedules, real lunch breaks, and a collaborative team culture. Our technicians enjoy a 4 day work week with rotating weekend coverage (only IF we have hospitalized patients do you come in) and paid holidays. Our career path for you is Veterinary Technician to Senior Technician to Lead Technician and then Technician Supervisor. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal health and client education. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care. Technicians should spend most of their time performing technician-level medicine. You should be comfortable delegating restraint ,room cleaning and stocking to assistants Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures Induce, intubate, and monitor anesthesia during surgical and dental procedures Get full History & vitals on patients in rooms and document in patient records in proper SOAP format Accurately calculate and prepare medication dosages for patients as directed by the veterinarian Collect laboratory samples including blood, urine, fecal, and cytology specimens Perform laboratory tests and prepare samples for diagnostic evaluation Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Take and develop radiographs, including diagnostic dental radiographs Perform dental prophylaxis (professional dental cleanings) and assist with dental procedures Prepare surgical suites and maintain sterile surgical environments Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care Educate clients on medications, preventative care, nutrition, and treatment plans Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Clean and maintain equipment and treatment areas Assist with patient restraint and handling to ensure safety for staff and animals Skills Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or eligibility for licensure Ability to accurately calculate medication dosages and drug volumes based on patient weight Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and patient restraint Ability to induce anesthesia, intubate patients, and monitor anesthesia during procedures Experience performing dental prophylaxis and obtaining diagnostic dental radiographs Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and common veterinary procedures Ability to safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments Strong communication and client education skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Basic computer skills and experience with veterinary practice management software Must be able to stand for long hours, bend, twist and kneel down Must have at least 1 year of experience in small animal practice Join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) where your passion for animals meets your technical expertise. Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
