Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician-CVT, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with a wide range of medical procedures, provide exceptional pet care, and ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. Your dedication to animal health and client communication will contribute to a compassionate and efficient environment, fostering trust and comfort for every patient and pet owner. Duties Prepare animals for examinations and surgical procedures through proper restraint and handling, utilizing animal husbandry techniques. Assist veterinarians during surgeries by monitoring anesthesia, managing vascular access, and performing animal catheterization. Conduct laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory tests to support accurate diagnoses. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols while ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, and radiology diagnostics to facilitate precise imaging and treatment. Provide pet grooming, dog training, and pet care services to promote overall well-being and client satisfaction. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet health, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster trust and understanding. Experience Previous kennel experience with animal handling is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures. Hands-on experience with anesthesia administration, IV insertion, animal restraint, and emergency medicine protocols. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management. Experience in diagnostic radiology, laboratory procedures, pet grooming or dog training is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in all veterinary procedures. Certification as a Veterinary Technician-Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent credential is required.
