Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Lab Animal Care Technician in Denver, Pennsylvania (PA) to support daily operations for a life sciences production organization that provides comprehensive preclinical research and development services. The Lab Animal Care Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the health, welfare, and proper handling of animals while maintaining a clean, compliant, and organized work environment. Responsibilities of the
Lab Animal Care Technician:
- Provide daily animal care, including feeding, watering, health monitoring, and maintaining overall well-being
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain animal housing and facility areas, including routine upkeep and power washing
- Handle, move, and support animals within the established protocols and barrier facility standards
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, health, and regulatory requirements through adherence to standard procedures
- Support breeding and production activities, including order fulfillment, packaging, and shipments
- Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to a safe, organized, and team-oriented work environment Qualifications of the
Lab Animal Care Technician:
- Comfortable working hands-on with animals (including rabbits) in a laboratory or controlled environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow strict protocols and maintain accurate records
- Reliable, motivated, and positive, with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Flexible schedule, including availability for early hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Prior animal care experience preferred; ALAT certification or similar credential is a plus Compensation for the Lab Animal Care Technician includes:
