Experience is required for this position! Two Saturdays a month are required. Sign on bonus offered after 6 months of full-time employment! ____________________________________________________________________________________ In this role as Surgical Technician, you should have the following requirements:
  • Possess at least 2 years working experience in a surgical setting in a veterinary hospital
  • Oversee daily surgical admissions, and prepare patients for surgical procedures under direction of the surgeon
  • Experienced and skilled in the following: venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia induction and monitoring throughout procedure, as well as during patient recovery
  • Filling prescriptions and administer medications including proper logging and security of controlled drugs
  • Demonstrate mastery of medication calculations and administration of medications

  • Conduct laboratory work related to surgical cases, including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample collection, and diagnostic radiology procedures like X-ray imaging
  • Possess low stress handling techniques to help keep pet's safe and calm
  • Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness to ensure that the surgery room is stocked, all equipment is cared for and ready for any procedure
  • Sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing and disinfecting all surgical equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and have sound medical knowledge
  • Clear communication skills and able to communicate effectively with the surgeon, other veterinarians and support team
  • Clear and compassionate communication with owners and your team during discharges
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and treatment plans within our cloud-based system
