Responsibilities Perform medical collections, including blood draws, urine samples, and other diagnostic procedures with precision and care. Assist in surgical procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and monitoring anesthesia. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations, treatments, and diagnostic tests. Provide excellent animal husbandry and pet care, ensuring animals are comfortable and well-cared-for at all times. Manage laboratory tasks such as sample processing, testing, and recording results accurately using veterinary software. Support front desk operations by communicating with clients professionally, scheduling appointments, and managing veterinary administrative support tasks. Maintain compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines during medication handling and record keeping. Utilize veterinary terminology confidently to document patient records and communicate effectively with team members. Assist in kennel duties, including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' health status. Contribute to veterinary critical care when needed by providing support during emergencies or intensive treatments. Qualifications Valid certification as a Veterinary Technician from an accredited program. Proven experience in veterinary clinics or hospitals with familiarity in companion animal medicine. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and veterinary critical care procedures. Proficiency in veterinary software systems such as Pulse or AVImark; familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus. Experience with laboratory procedures, medical collection techniques, and aseptic protocols. Ability to handle dogs/cats confidently through training or prior dog/cat handling experience. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; customer service experience is highly valued. Knowledge of Veterinary terminology, surgical procedures, drug regulations (DEA), USDA regulations, and pet care best practices. Physical ability to perform animal restraint tasks comfortably; capable of standing or walking for extended periods during busy shifts.
