Job Description

Join the lifesaving team at Greenville County Animal Care, the largest open-admission shelter in South Carolina, where your skills will directly impact the lives of thousands of pets and the families who love them. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician at our high-volume spay/neuter and community wellness clinic, you'll work alongside dedicated veterinary professionals to provide compassionate, high-quality care to more than 10,000 animals annually. This is more than just a job, it's an opportunity to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team committed to accessible veterinary care, public health, and animal welfare. In this role, you won't just assist with patient care, you'll help lead and shape our growing community wellness program. The LVT in this position will play a key role in developing how we serve pets and people facing barriers to veterinary care, helping expand access to affordable services throughout our community. You'll also have opportunities to work alongside veterinary students and help mentor the next generation of veterinary professionals. Responsibilities include preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, supporting wellness appointments, educating pet owners, and helping deliver high-quality medical care every day in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Strong animal handling skills, experience with anesthesia and surgical prep, and the ability to work independently under pressure are essential. Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people as much as animals. Excellent client communication skills, compassion, patience, and the ability to connect with pet owners from all backgrounds are critical to success in this role. Applicants must be licensed in South Carolina and possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. We know work-life balance matters. This position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, and most days are finished by 5:00 p.m. If you're looking for meaningful work, want to help build innovative community programs, and are passionate about improving access to care for pets and the people who love them, we'd love to meet you.
