Job Description

Job Summary:
Are you looking for an interesting career in veterinary medicine? Whether you're an experienced LVT or a new LVT grad, we want you, and we train! Join us at Country Creatures Veterinary Care. This position performs technical responsibilities in support of the treatment of all livestock species (equine, bovine, caprine, ovine, porcine, camelids, occasional backyard poultry and hooved exotics). This role includes a mixture of predominantly weekday, daytime hour shifts with occasional evening and weekend shifts. A 4-day scheduled work week is typical but due to on-call responsibilities the schedule will differ week-to-week. Complete schedule options will be discussed and agreed upon during the hiring process. This position will likely start with part-time hours and progress to full time once training is completed.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Stock/restock mobile veterinary unit Ensures all equipment is fully charged, clean and equipment needed for the days appointments is on the truck ready for use Monitors animal health status and records, provides nursing care, notifies veterinarian when status changes, and records in the medical record Tracks supply inventory levels and creates a weekly ordering list Develops recordkeeping processes, maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and billing Completes appropriate laboratory tests and collects specimens according to established medical orders and care plans Prepares, completes, monitors, and documents complex technical animal care procedures and work unit activities, assessments, and medication administration according to established care plans and medical necessity Serves as a point of contact for animal owners and stakeholders providing information and answering questions Documents and disseminates results to the appropriate entities Provide acute emergency care to established patients using standing medical protocol under indirect supervision until a patient is stabilized or a veterinarian is available to assess
Compensation:
Pay range $22-25/hour Phone/internet stipend
Required Qualifications:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently Physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks Experience working with large animals LVT in

Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
