Job Description

Busy, fast growing, privately owned veterinary practice seeking an experienced full time technician to join our hard working team. We recently added a new doctor to our staff and are looking to grow our team. Qualified candidates must be responsible, punctual, dependable, and have reliable transportation. This position requires motivation, ability to multitask, organize, follow detailed instructions, work individually and as part of a team, and to adapt to our fast-paced environment. Applicants must have knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology, pharmaceutical drugs, basic preventative health care, common diseases and their transmission, etc. Skill sets required but not limited to: phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, radiographic positioning, and more. Previous animal experience in a professional setting is required. Saturdays are required (currently we are only open 2 Saturdays a month).
Responsibilities include:
Client communication Proper animal restraint Filling prescriptions Assisting DVM in exam rooms and surgery Medication administration - IV, SQ, IM & PO Setting up and interpreting cytologies Saturday Half Days Proficiency in (is a plus): Venipuncture Intravenous catheter placement Anesthetic monitoring Calculating drug dosages Capturing radiographs Monitoring hospitalized patients Running various in house blood work diagnostics
