Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to companion animals. This role involves working closely with both the veterinary team and pet owners, ensuring that all animals receive the best possible treatment in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory work. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor and record animal vital signs and health status. Prepare animals for surgery, including/monitoring/recovering anesthesia. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide education to pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment, including kennels and treatment areas. Assist with grooming tasks as needed to maintain the hygiene of animals in care. Skills Proficient in veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge. Experience with X-ray procedures and dental terminology is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal catheterization techniques and pet grooming practices. Strong understanding of kennel management and overall pet care requirements. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for interacting with both team members and pet owners. A compassionate approach toward animal handling and patient care is essential. Walk and stand for at least 10 minutes at a time, multiple times per hour . Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level or higher, several times a day. Lift objects up to 50 pounds to a height of 1 meter or higher and carry them up to 2 meters without assistance. Handle, position, and restrain live animals . Work in a structured environment with time constraints, make rapid decisions, and ability to forward think. $14.00 - $21.00 per hour
