PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The Animal Care Technician and Retail Adoption Clerk is expected to care for and socialize animals, keep them and their environment sanitized and clean, work professionally with the public to facilitate adoptions including paperwork, electronic data entry and handling of funds. This position is a part-time weekend position working Saturdays and Sundays.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required or assigned. Care and cleaning of animals. Socialization of animals/animal enrichment. Adoptions and fee collection for animals. Enters adoption into electronic system. Works with volunteers and works with scheduling volunteers. Cleans and sanitizes cages. Cleans/washes food and water bowls, scoops litter pans, sweeps, mops, dusts, cleans windows, and does laundry. Lifts and moves feed bags, stocks and organizes supplies and donations. Deals with animals on a daily basis. Handling of aggressive, injured, or sick animals as needed. Transport of animals if necessary. Attends adoption events. Assists staff with animal vetting. Trains volunteers on adoption protocol, paperwork, fees, receipt, and iPad entry. Responsible for timely delivery of deposits. Keeps the retail Adoption Center and Playroom clean, picked up, and smelling fresh at all times. Performs related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; preferably supplemented by 1 year of previous administrative experience and/or experience working in an office environment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Experience working with animals is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver's license. Anderson County Government is an equal opportunity employer.
