Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Tech Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and handling techniques to ensure the well-being of our furry clients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide dental care and educate pet owners on proper dental hygiene. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments. Monitor animal behavior and vital signs to detect any changes in health status. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care. Requirements Proven knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Experience with dog handling and general animal handling skills. Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology is a plus. Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and assist with X-ray procedures. Knowledge of equine care is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential.
