Veterinary Technician - Non-Credentialed

Full-Time Veterinary Technician/Assistant Forest Hill Animal Hospital is seeking a responsible and outgoing individual who loves working with dogs and cats to join our technician team.

Job Description:

Prep and assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures. Perform laboratory tests and radiographs. Operate and maintain hospital equipment such as IV pumps, EKG, scales, laboratory machines, and anesthetic monitors. Assist the veterinarian in anesthetizing animals and monitoring them during surgeries. Properly restrain and handle animals of all sizes and temperaments. Fill prescriptions and administer medications. Perform venipuncture (cephalic and jugular) and place IV and urinary catheters. Interact with clients and animals while collecting medical information. Maintain cleanliness in exam rooms and cages after each patient. Ensure a clean and sanitary surgery area and equipment. Approach job duties in a mature, professional manner.

Job Requirements:

Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments in a calm and professional manner. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand on your feet for extended periods (10-hour shifts) in a labor-intensive environment. Strong work ethic, dependability, patience, and effective communication skills. Availability to work weekends and holidays (no exceptions). Degree or certification is not required; work experience preferred but not required (we will train). Must be 18 years or older.
