About us At the Bonham Veterinary Clinic we serve the community & its animals at the highest standard of care. Everyday is different & we hope to have you join our unique team. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. Candidates must have prior experience working with small & large animals as well as expertise in basic medical screening procedures. Strong customer service skills, a friendly personality and strong attention to detail are needed for this position. The right individual for this role will have excellent communication skills and an aptitude for working effectively in a fast-paced environment. In addition, we're looking for someone who takes pride in the standard of care provided to our patients and enjoys working collaboratively with the veterinary staff.
Responsibilities:
Prepare animals for surgery. Prepare injection and sedative medications. Being proficient in IV catheter placement & intubation techniques. Assist in diagnostic imaging technology procedures. Getting thorough patient history from clients. Assist in animal care, treatment, and monitoring including splinting, bandaging, and transporting. Treat animals using pharmaceuticals, medical instruments, and therapies. Packaging & shipping of specimens to diagnostic laboratories. Monitor animals' vital signs and body functions. Communicate clearly with other team members and veterinarians about the animals' condition. Conduct laboratory work such as drawing blood and administering drugs. Assisting at end of day cleaning duties in preparation for the next day. Answering the telephone Working efficiently with teammates. Client educationPay:
