Job Description
Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Animal Care Technician to join our team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, structured, and enriching environment for dogs in our daycare facility while supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of care. Your extensive experience with animal behavior and team coordination will help ensure that every dog receives exceptional attention and care. Duties Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime, ensuring their safety, well-being, and appropriate socialization. Monitor dog behavior, proactively manage group dynamics, and intervene to prevent conflicts or injuries. Lead daily operations within the daycare area, including delegating tasks and guiding junior staff. Train and mentor entry-level team members on proper animal handling, safety protocols, and facility procedures. Oversee routine cleaning and sanitation of play areas, kennels, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment. Administer basic and, when required, advanced care such as feeding, watering, and medications in accordance with instructions. Assist with grooming tasks, including bathing and brushing, ensuring animal comfort and safety. Maintain detailed and accurate records of each dog's behavior, health status, and incidents. Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior, progress, and any concerns. Collaborate with management to improve operational processes, safety standards, and overall client experience. Qualifications Minimum of 1-5 years of professional experience in animal care, dog daycare, veterinary settings, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in dog behavior, group play management, and animal handling techniques. Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor staff in a professional setting. Experience as a veterinary technician, animal care supervisor, or professional groomer is strongly preferred. Strong skills in animal restraint and safe handling of dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and handling large breeds. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and team members. High level of reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
