Job Description
We are not VCA or part of VCA, Mars, or any corporate group. V-care animal clinic is an independent, doctor-owned clinic built on quality medicine, efficiency, and a calm, professional culture. We operate on a low-volume, high-standards model where precision, accountability, and teamwork matter. We are seeking an experienced, confident Veterinary Technician to join our small, surgery-focused, privately owned practice. This position is ideal for someone comfortable functioning independently in surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and client communication. Core Clinical Responsibilities You will function at an advanced level in: IV catheter placement (dogs & cats) Blood collection from jugular, cephalic, and other sites Surgical preparation, induction, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery Dental procedures X-ray positioning In-house diagnostics (hematology, chemistry, cytology, SNAP tests, fecals) Safe restraint, including fractious patients Thorough medical record documentation Client communication (history taking, medication instructions, discharge counseling) Train and mentor assistants and kennel staff Assist with inventory management and supply organization Provide client education Maintain anesthesia and surgical equipment Support workflow efficiency and operational consistency Assist during urgent or emergency cases Help maintain a calm, professional team environment Qualifications Minimum 1 year hands-on clinical experience (more preferred) Strong anesthesia and surgical competence Ability to work independently without constant supervision Reliable, punctual, and professional Calm under pressure Strong communication skills Able to lift 50 lbs What We Offer Paid Time Off Employee pet discounts Small, respectful, no-drama team Predictable schedule Very reasonable number of appointments per day.
