Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff Conduct laboratory tests including blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as animal catheterization and wound management Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to safety protocols for radiation exposure Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and administering medications as directed Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning and oral examinations Manage kennel areas, ensuring animals are comfortable, clean, and properly cared for during their stay Assist with equine care when applicable, including handling horses and understanding equine anatomy and physiology Document all patient information accurately in medical records and communicate effectively with clients about pet health needs Qualifications 2-3 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and patient care Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance Proficiency in laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely restrain animals when necessary Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or holidays if needed Join us in creating a caring environment where animals receive top-tier treatment through your expertise!
