Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Assist veterinarians with complex procedures including anesthesia administration, surgical assistance, radiology diagnostics, and critical care interventions. Perform advanced animal handling techniques, including restraint, IV insertion, catheterization, and vascular access for a variety of species including dogs, cats, and equines. Conduct laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and sample processing using veterinary software systems. Manage diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray positioning, image quality assessment, and radiology diagnostics documentation. Oversee anesthesia monitoring during general anesthesia procedures ensuring patient safety through vigilant veterinary anesthesia monitoring practices. Provide client education on pet care, medication administration, emergency medicine protocols, and post-operative instructions with clear communication skills. Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and assist in maintaining medical equipment operation standards. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care with a focus on animal physiology understanding and medical intervention. Qualifications 3+ years Lead veterinary technician experience Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal husbandry, emergency medicine, and critical care environments. Extensive kennel experience along with dog handling skills and animal restraint expertise. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures. Proficiency in veterinary software systems and diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray machines. Skilled in laboratory techniques such as phlebotomy, pet care procedures, IV insertion, animal catheterization, and medication administration. Experience with anesthesiology practices including general anesthesia management and veterinary anesthesia monitoring. Ability to handle multiple species with confidence in equine experience preferred but not required. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Certification or licensing as required by local regulations for veterinary technicians is highly desirable.
