Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog training and animal restraint methods, to ensure safety for both pets and staff Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnoses Conduct animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, pet care, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments following veterinary instructions while understanding veterinary terminology and animal physiology Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines Assist with animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other veterinary critical care procedures to support patient stability and recovery Previous Veterinary Technician experience required Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective support Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and veterinary critical care enhances your candidacy Strong dog handling skills along with pet grooming and pet care experience are advantageous Ability to perform aseptic techniques accurately during medical procedures is required Excellent animal restraint skills combined with understanding of animal behavior ensures safe interactions Ability to place IV catheter required Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact the health and happiness of animals.
