Whether you're an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or someone with veterinary clinic, hospital, or shelter experience looking to grow your skills, we provide training and opportunities for advancement. What You'll Do Patient Care & Surgical Support Triage patients at intake and communicate health concerns to veterinarians. Assist with patient restraint, anesthesia induction, intubation, and surgical preparation. Monitor anesthesia and identify abnormal patient conditions. Assist with surgical procedures and maintain patient safety throughout the day. Provide post-operative monitoring and recovery care. Administer vaccines during wellness clinics and outreach events. Maintain accurate medical records and patient identification. Client Communication & Education Welcome clients and obtain accurate patient histories. Explain post-operative instructions and veterinary recommendations. Provide medication counseling and answer client questions professionally. Serve as an educational resource while supporting positive client experiences. Animal Handling Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats in a high-volume setting (approximately 40 animals daily). Recognize behavioral cues and use appropriate fear-free handling and safety practices. Utilize required protective equipment when handling fearful or fractious animals. Clinic Operations Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and packs. Maintain recovery, treatment, and work areas. Restock medications and medical supplies. Assist with patient transport, intake, and release processes. Support overall clinic efficiency and workflow. Leadership Opportunities (Advanced Technicians) Mentor and train veterinary assistants and newer team members. Assist veterinarians during surgery using proper sterile techniques. Help lead daily clinic operations and support a positive team culture. Qualifications Entry-Level Candidates Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, animal shelter, or related environment preferred. Willingness to learn and grow through hands-on training. Advanced Candidates Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred. Enrollment in an accredited veterinary technology program considered. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. Required Skills Excellent animal handling skills with dogs and cats. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to accurately relay veterinary information. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work actively for 8+ hours per day. Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Fine motor skills and visual acuity for detailed medical tasks. Ability to work in confined spaces and mobile clinic environments. $18.50 - $25.00 per hour
